Nduara Loliondo

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

A new wave of tented camps is lighting up the plains of Tanzania, and Nduara Loliondo has jumped straight into the top spot. The ix Mongolian-style tents are dramatic circus arenas, airy and colorful, with heartbreaking views of an endless horizon. There's a slight 'where are the grown-ups?' feel - all this funky luxury and such a marvellous playground outside. On the edge of the Serengeti National Park, the safari walks with the Maasai Morani are wonderful and children in particular love the night drives - they give you an excitingly eerie experience of the bush. The guides make even the tiniest spider seem evolutionary; food is so much more than campfire fodder; and there won't be another tourist in sight. Africa with fizz in its veins.
